Police searching for missing man issue update on boat recovered from sea
by Lydia Royce · Wales OnlinePolice searching for Chris Ellery have issued a further update. Mr Ellery was reported missing by his family after failing to return home from a solo boat trip in Fishguard. He was last seen on Wednesday at 2pm, where CCTV captured him leaving Fishguard harbour.
The 54-year-old dad was on a RHIB - which stands for rigid inflatable boat. It is understood he visited Fishguard from his home in Bristol.
His family raised the alarm on Friday after he failed to return home as planned on Thursday afternoon. Dyfed-Powys Police released an update relating to the search on Saturday, revealing that a boat had been found.
However, the police force clarified that the boat which was recovered from the water near Abermawr Beach by HM Coastguard does not belong to Chris. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter
Chris's daughter explained that the family raised the alarm on Friday morning when he failed to return home. She explained that some of his belongings had been found in a cove which was only accessible by boat, and an AirTag showed his last-known location was out at sea
