Robert Bill, a father-of-four who told a court he approached his victims because of his love of children, is understood to have died in a Moroccan jail, reports North Wales Live. In June, 2013, Bill was arrested after locals heard a girl's screams for help from a Spanish-registered car at a petrol station in Tetouan, a town in the north of Morocco.

He was also found guild of kidnapping and attempting to rape two other Moroccan girls prior to his arrest, one in Tetouan and another in Chefchaouen. While Bill was in the UK in 2009, he was jailed for six years at Caernarfon Crown Court for attempting to abduct a five-year-old girl in Holywell in 2007.

However, after appealing and pleading guilty before a retrial, his sentence was reduced to two years at Chester Crown Court in 2010. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter

Upon release, he moved to southern Spain in August, 2012, securing a job as an estate agent. But, within months, Spanish detectives launched a manhunt following allegations that he forced a 12-year-old girl into his car in Velez-Malaga in broad daylight, before she managed to escape.

He entered Morocco in November, 2012, from Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the African coast. After his conviction in Morocco, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison in April, 2014.

North Wales Live has been told that Bill has now died in a Moroccan prison. A Foreign Office spokesperson commented: "We are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Morocco and are in contact with the local authorities."
