Plans for hundreds of new homes in Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan
by Sion Barry, Sion Barry · Wales OnlinePlans have been revealed for a 300-plus new home development in the Vale of Glamorgan. Persimmon Homes East Wales has submitted a full planning application to Vale of Glamorgan Council for 339 properties on land north of the railway line in Rhoose.
The development – on a site allocated for housing for over 20 years -reserves more than a third of the homes (119 properties) for a housing association partner, to help alleviate the pressure on the council for the provision of affordable homes. There are nearly 7,000 people in the Vale of Glamorgan on a housing waiting list.
Subject to planning consent in January work on the scheme would start next spring with the first homes ready for occupancy at the end of 2025.
