Seven needy Pomeranians have checked into Dogs Trust Merseyside as they eagerly await their new homes. These little balls of fluff have big personalities, and could be the perfect addition to the right home.
Pomeranians are one of the most popular toy breeds worldwide, known for their thick, luxurious coats. The breed is known to be intelligent, energetic, loyal and affectionate, and can easily pick up on training with positive reinforcement. People who are interested in adding one of these cute companions to their household are asked to register to adopt with the Dog's Trust. You will be asked to provide details about your home, your lifestyle and the dogs you are interested in.

You will also be asked to select a rehoming centre. Afterwards, the Dogs Trust team will review the application and contact you within seven days to talk about your dog search.
The Trust retain all applications it receives for three months, during which time it will be used to scope out the most suitable pet from your chosen centre. After a match is made, you will be invited to meet the dog at your chosen rehoming centre. Some of the dogs will need to meet prospective owners several times to see if they are compatible.
If no dog matching your requirements becomes available during the three months, however, you may be asked to apply again. After adoption, the Trust will keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing.
Queenie
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 5-7 years
Sex: Female
Requirements: Can live with older children, must be rehomed with Bonnie
The Dogs Trust says:
Queenie is a gentle girl who hasn't seen much of the outside world, just the centre and the home she came from. She tries her best but sometimes things are a little overwhelming for her, so she's looking for a family who are willing to take their time to get to know her and best pal Bonnie, and allow them time to find their paws. Queenie is getting used to walking on a lead and slowly being introduced to dogs besides the ones she came to us with. It's slow progress but she has potential, but for now she should just live with Bonnie. She isn't used to much contact with people and although she tolerates grooming, we made sure to build a bond with her before attempting to brush her. Queenie and Bonnie are lovely girls who are going to make someone very happy.
1 of 7Bonnie
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 5-7 years
Sex: Female
Requirements: Can live with older children, must be rehomed with Queenie
The Dogs Trust says:
Bonnie is quite a relaxed girl but she does lack the confidence of her best pal Queenie. She hasn't seen much of the outside world, just the centre and the home she came from, so she finds things a little overwhelming at times, but she's doing her best. Bonnie is getting used to walking on a lead and slowly being introduced to dogs besides the ones she came to us with. It's slow progress but she has potential, but for now she should just live with Queenie. Bonnie isn't used to much contact with people and although she tolerates grooming, we made sure to build a bond with her before attempting to brush her. Her new family will need to take things slowly with her whilst she gets used to her new life.
2 of 7Betty
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 5-7 years
Sex: Female
Requirements: Can live with older children, no other pets
The Dogs Trust says:
Betty is a sweetheart who loves a fuss but she likes to take time to get to know people., She's built a lovely strong bond with her handlers and as long as she's allowed time and space, she comes around to new people quite quickly. Betty had barely seen the outside world before arriving in our care and lots of things have the potential to be overwhelming for her. It's important that her new family allow her to settle and don't expect too much of her initially. Betty is a playful girl when she feels secure and it's a joy to see her relax and be confident.
3 of 7Honey
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 2-5 years
Sex: Female
Requirements: Can live with older children, no dogs
The Dogs Trust says:
Honey was brought in with another five Pomeranians who haven't really experienced the outside world. Our carers are teaching her how to walk on a lead and this needs to be carried on in the home. With all of this in mind her new owner will need to help build her confidence in new surroundings. Honey loves a fuss from her known handlers and also has a little bit of a playful side! Once that bond has been built we can see her really stepping out of her shell and becoming a real snuggle bug, but for now we are taking a slow approach to her handling.

Brandy
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 5-7 years
Sex: Female
Requirements: Can live with children, must be rehomed with Binky
The Dogs Trust says:
Both girls haven't seen much of the outside world therefore they are learning how to walk on the lead here at the centre, this training will need to be carried on in the home. They have both settled well into centre life and are happy to say hello to people, but being small they are understandably a little worried when people lean over her to stroke them. Both girls aren't too thrilled with the presence of other dogs therefore they would benefit from confidence building with other dogs in the future. Binky loves nothing more than relaxing in the arms of her handlers and throws herself into that position when being picked up! Both girls would be a joy to have as they are so very loving once that bond has been built.
5 of 7Binky
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 5-7 years
Sex: Female
Requirements: Can live with children, must be rehomed with Brandy
The Dogs Trust says:
Brandy and Binky are looking for a home together! They can both live with children over the age of 10 but must be the only dogs in the home. They will need someone at home most of the day to help with their house training. Brandy does have a grade 2 luxating patella however this doesn't let her bother her and is not on any medication for it.
6 of 7Ted
Breed: Pomeranian
Age: 5-7 years
Sex: Male
Requirements: No children, no other pets
The Dogs Trust says:
Little Ted came to us as family commitments meant he wasn't getting the time he needed. He's a smashing chap who loves to play with his family and enjoys a fuss when he's in the mood. Being brushed isn't Ted's favourite thing, but he tolerates it with a slow and patient approach, and his coat will need regular care to prevent it getting matted. His new family will need to be patient and committed to building his confidence in a quiet environment. Ted will object to other dogs initially but sometimes settles, but he'll need to be the only dog in the home. As with all dogs, Ted should be left alone when eating.
