A man charged with murdering a woman and two of her daughters in an attack at their home has appeared in court.

Carol Hunt, 61, Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25, died after being found fatally injured in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on 9 July.

Kyle Clifford, 26, from Enfield, north London, who was arrested after being found injured in a cemetery near his home on 10 July, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court via video link on Thursday.

The defendant, who was in a wheelchair, did not enter a plea during the 15-minute mention hearing.

The victims were the wife and daughters of BBC racing commentator, John Hunt.

An inquest in July heard Mrs Hunt died from stab wounds to her chest and abdomen, while her daughters both died from crossbow bolt injuries.

Mr Clifford has also been charged with false imprisonment and two counts of possession of offensive weapons.

He appeared at a hearing overseen by Mr Justice Johnson.

No date for a further hearing was fixed but, the judge said, another hearing might be staged in early December.
