by · Leinster Leader

A man smashed a door in a hotel while on a foreign holiday with the family, his wife claimed at Naas District Court.

She was seeking court protection under family law legislation.

The woman claimed that her husband tried to choke their son.

She said the first week was spent in a police station and hospital.

The woman also alleged that he was beating her before they were married and three days before the hearing he had been taken to hospital.

The woman said the man does not live with her and resides elsewhere.

Judge Miriam Walsh granted her an interim protection order.
