'This guy is busy' says judge of man with108 previous convictions

Jamie McCormack, 34, whose address was given as 35 Cloonlara Road, Finglas, Dublin, was prosecuted for taking €300 worth of alcohol.
Sgt Mary Meade told the court that the incident took place on August 16 last at the Londis convenience store at Main Street, Maynooth.
She said the alcohol was placed in a bag and though the defendant was stopped by staff, he left with the alcohol.
The sergeant added that the gardaí were at the scene and the defendant was shouting.
The court heard he had 108 previous convictions including four for theft. He had 54 convictions in the UK, including 13 for theft.
The defendant told the court that “it's’ all down to drink” adding “I’ve changed my ways.”
Defending barrister Donncha Craddock said the defendant had made a grave error. He also said the man’s partner is expecting a child.
“This guy is busy,” commented Judge Desmond Zaidan. He told the defendant he has not changed his ways and he should be sending him to prison because of his previous convictions. He imposed a fine of €500.
