A vacant building in Leixlip is to be converted into a 12-bedroom guesthouse.

Kildare County Council granted planning permission to Emerald Project Management Limited.

The existing vacant building at Ralf Square in the town will be restored to provide a guest house with 12 bedrooms.

New partition walls, doors and window openings will facilitate a revised internal layout at ground floor and first floor.

The ground floor will include a reception area, kitchen, accessible bathroom and eight bedrooms (7 bedrooms ensuite).

Four bedrooms (3 bedrooms ensuite) will be located on the first floor with a toilet.

A first floor extension to the existing building will accommodate a staff room.
