The Rotary Club of The Rotary Club of Naas hosted the Captains Day Charity Golf classic in aid of local charity, McAuley Place and other Rotary charities on Thursday, September 19 at the wonderful Craddockstown Golf Club.

Naas Rotary Club is a service organisation taking action to promote lasting change.

The Rotary club of Naas linked with McAuley Place for this event to support McAuley Place in further development of their facilities on their recently acquired Beaufort site in Naas.

McAuley Place is an intergenerational facility providing independent living for elderly people in Naas town. They have recently purchased the Beaufort site, adjacent to their current facilities on the Sallins Road.

The acquisition of the adjacent Beaufort site will provide circa 43 additional units with a vibrant new space for older residents of the wider community. In delivering this next phase, McAuley Place will ensure to continue to create an inter-generational, stimulating, and creative environment at the heart of the town and also to create a quality and affordable place where older people choose and are proud to live.

Over €1 million has to be raised towards the cost of building the Beaufort project with the majority of the funds being awarded by the Department of Housing and Local Government and Heritage, in conjunction with Kildare County Council.
