Saskatoon schools declare 'snow day,' cancel Monday classes

Weather-related school closures are a rare event in Saskatchewan, but slippery snow-packed roads in the city could put students at risk.

After a weekend of extreme snowfall, all Saskatoon Public and Catholic Schools will be closed and classes will be cancelled on Monday, November 25.

On Sunday afternoon, both school divisions said they had spoken with the City of Saskatoon and come to the the decision “to ensure the safety of all our students and staff members” while “potentially unsafe road conditions exist.”
