The BBC Strictly Come Dancing spoiler for week one has leaked - with fans "kinda shocked". Every week, BBC insiders leak the information over who is sent home in the pre-recorded results show - and week one's result has shocked fans.

BirminghamLive has chosen not to reveal the details. But taking to Twitter, now X, a Strictly Come Dancing fan typed: "Wow. Kinda shocked". A second typed: "Shocking result. I thought the candidate sent home had real potential to learn and improve. Don't feel that way at all about the saved celeb."

A third BBC viewer wrote: "Wasn’t expecting that, but not too shocked. Probably didn’t have much of a fan base. Also, without wanting to sound rude at all, ***** is more of a laugh and less forgettable." Another wrote: "Hes got to have messed up in the dance off.... that's the only thing that makes sense.

"Otherwise i have no clue." Another asked: "Genuine question: why are they still pretending the results are live? I ASSUME there are cost/logistical reasons as to why they're NOT, but are they not making money off the supposedly open phone lines?"

Another said: "How would he not win the dance off? What the heck happened? That is a weird first out." Another typed: "Woah was not expecting that at all…. Either they messed up badly in the dance off or the other contestant improved dramatically in the dance off…."

During the show, Miranda star Sarah Hadland and last year’s Strictly winner Vito Coppola wowed the judges with their striking paso doble to Freed From Desire by Gala Rizzatto which secured her a score of 32, bringing her total to 62.

Comedian Chris McCausland, the show’s first blind contestant, received a standing ovation and score of 29 for his foxtrot with his partner Dianne Buswell to Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy by The Tams, bringing his overall total to 52.
