I'm A Celebrity star lands huge new job after being bombarded with online abuse
by Jordan Coussins, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/jordan-coussins/, Amelia Ward · Birmingham LiveI'm A Celebrity favourite Dom Joly is set to take on a major new gig with LBC, describing the opportunity as "perfect" for him. The 56 year old comedian, famed for his hit Channel 4 show Trigger Happy TV which started in 2000 and became an international sensation, has since penned several travel books and recently concluded his UK comedy tour discussing global conspiracy theories.
Now, he's announced to his followers that he's secured a week-long stint on LBC starting at the end of December.
Dom excitedly shared the update via Instagram Stories, posting a clip of himself donning headphones and exclaiming: "Guess who has got a week's worth of shows on LBC? Hello! " He then waved to the camera and continued: "Very excited, starting on the 30th December for the whole week - 10 in the evening until one in the morning. Perfect for me. Frankly perfect. So very, very excited."

The father of two previously expressed his joy at joining the station last year, sharing on social media: "I've got news! ! ! Taking my hobby of arguing with people online onto national radio - @LBC to be precise. I've listened to the station for over 30 years so it will be surreal to have a show. Kicking off 7-10pm 27th/28th December and 6-9pm on the 29th."
Dom recently opened up about being targeted by conspiracy theorists after his book, 'The Conspiracy Tourist: Travels Through a Strange World', hit the shelves. With his trademark humour, Dom journeyed across the globe to explore some of the most bizarre and outlandish conspiracy theories out there, from the true story behind JFK's assassination to flat earth theories.
However, he didn't anticipate that his satirical take would make him a target for those very theorists. Speaking to the Mirror, Dom recounted the odd comments he's received since his book launch and tour.
Imitating his critics, Dom shared with us: "They would say: 'He's a f****** shill. He's working for Bill Gates. All of Trigger Happy was a front to build up and knock down conspiracies'."
Dom couldn't help but chuckle at the situation, saying, "I don't give a flying f*** about conspiracies," and reflecting on how conspiracy theories used to be a harmless amusement. "Frankly, in the old days conspiracies were funny, and it was kind of what the village idiot did, and it was just funny. And then the village idiot went online, met other village idiots, and suddenly it's become f****** serious. Like the president of the United States is into conspiracies."
Dom Joly vented about an unusual experience, saying: "They spent a whole afternoon having a live convention, and the theme of the afternoon was, who is Dom Joly? And I'm like, 'well, read my f****** books'. But they did some critical research, apparently, and from their own research they have decided that I'm a spy and I have close ties to the military industrial complex. I'm just like 'f***'."
This revelation has nudged him to adjust his comedy routine as he returned to the stage this weekend, unveiling that "The first leg of my tour was just me telling what I did in my book," and noting for the next part, "The second leg of my tour ends with me going, I'm now a conspiracy."
