Multiple casualties after van crashed into two cars on major Birmingham road
by birminghammail.co.uk · Birmingham LiveTwo people were taken to hospital following a collision on a main Birmingham route. The emergency services were called to Bromford lane after a man had a suspected medical episode and a van crashed into two cars just after 6.30pm on Thursday (November 7).
A woman with a serious, but non life-threatening injury, was also treated before being taken to Heartlands Hospital. Paramedics assessed and discharged two other patients at the scene
There was extensive congestion and queueing traffic back to the A47 Heartlands Parkway and Wood Lane. National Express West Midlands Service number 11C was also diverted.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving a van and two cars at the junction of Wheelwright Road and Bromford Lane at 6.31pm, two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a HART paramedic attended the scene. On arrival we discovered a man who had suffered a suspected medical episode prior to the collision and a woman with a serious, but non life-threatening injury.
"They were both treated at the scene before being taken to Heartlands Hospital. Two further patients were assessed and discharged at the scene."
