Tesco Express cigarette burglary suspects arrested as axe recovered

Three men were arrested following the raid at the convenience store in Stourport Road, Kidderminster

Hundreds of cigarettes were stolen when burglars targeted a Tesco Express. Three men were arrested following the late-night raid at the Kidderminster convenience store.

Police were called to the Stourport Road store at 11.30pm on Sunday, October 13. The trio, aged 51, 47 and 31, were detained and remained in custody on suspicion of burglary.

Officers were able to recover the stolen items, which included 200 tobacco products. They also found balaclavas, an axe, and a hammer, which were believed to have been used during the incident.

A spokesperson for Wyre Forest Police said: "Officers in Kidderminster intercepted three suspects following a burglary reported at Tesco Express last night. Three men, aged 51, 47 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently in custody helping police with their enquiries following the incident at the Stourport Road store.

"Police responded to a report of an ongoing burglary at 11.30pm and, thanks to their swift actions, managed to detain all suspects and recover all the stolen property including 200 tobacco products. They also recovered balaclavas, an axe, and a hammer believed to have been used during the incident."
