BBC Strictly Come Dancing favourite slams 'four' stars who are still on the show

A BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro has hit out at the show - accusing it of having a habit and trend of "overmarking" stars. The BBC former pro, who starred in Strictly Come Dancing previously, has hit out at Craig Revel Horwood, Anton du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and head judge Shirley Ballas.

James Jordan hit out at BBC Come Dancing judges as he claimed they were trying to 'save' one of the competing couples. James claimed that they were trying to "save" one pair in particular - Gladiators star Montell Douglas and partner Johannes Radebe.

He wrote on Twitter, now X, last night: "Ok - so are they over marking everyone or are they trying to keep Montell safe? Please remember I haven’t really watched the show this year but the scores seem very high for what I’m seeing."

Douglas and JLS singer JB Gill both received 35 points from the judges. Gill has been dancing with professional partner Lauren Oakley since week seven following the exit of Amy Dowden, who was forced to pull out because of injury.

One fan agreed, saying: "Scores are nonsense this year. Too many 9s & 10s. They become meaningless." Another added: "The over marking this year is the worst ever. And there are a few - judges' favourites - who are very over marked."

A third said: "Motsi, Shirley and Anton always give pretty positive scores. When they start so high like they did this week its difficult for them to drop down if anyones not great." And a fourth typed: "You sound so grumpy and if you’ve not watched the whole series - can you really make those judgements- it’s Wynne and Katya and Pete and Jowita. who’ve been seriously overmarked each week!"

Ending the show was EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, who descended onto the dancefloor astride a giant ketchup bottle prop, before performing a jive routine with partner Michelle Tsiakkas.
