A boyfriend wanting to check on his girlfriend after she allegedly ‘caused a drink-drive crash’ closing the M6 motorway in Staffordshire ended up making a big mistake. The crash is believed to have taken place on the M6 northbound between Junction 13 for Dunston and Junction 14 for Stafford at around 11pm on Saturday (October 5).

A woman driver was allegedly said to be under the influence and crashed in lane four of the motorway which led to the carriageway needing to be closed, police said. Her ‘concerned’ boyfriend heads to the scene but forgets he too has a criminal past.

After checking on how his partner is he is swiftly arrested. And ends up joining her in custody, Staffordshire Police said.
