Man charged after series of city centre robberies with suspects riding e-bikes

A man has been charged after a series of city centre robberies involving suspects riding e-bikes. Mahroy Stephenson has been charged with 17 robbery offences, West Midlands Police said.

Police said it followed a probe into a number of suspects carrying out robberies on electric bikes. Police said a 28-year-old man was arrested in Farm Road, Sparkbrook, yesterday, Thursday, November 14.

Stephenson was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today, Friday, November 15.

In a statement, police said: "A man has been charged in connection with a series of city centre robberies involving suspects riding e-bikes. On 14 November, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Farm Road, Birmingham.

"Mahroy Stephenson has been charged with 17 robbery offences, and is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today."
