BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro 'heartbroken' as she's disqualified

by · Birmingham Live

Strictly Come Dancing's Michelle Tsiakkas has faced a fresh blow as she was disqualified from this year's pro challenge. The 29 year old, who recently left the show with partner Jamie Borthwick following a dance-off, suffered further disappointment on Wednesday's It Takes Two.

During the segment, it was revealed that she had been eliminated from the professional dancers' contest. In the challenge, the Strictly professionals were to perform as many Cha Cha Cha time steps as they could in 30 seconds. While seated on the BBC It Takes Two sofa alongside host Janette Manrara and fellow pro Katya Jones, Michelle learned her outcome in the competition.

Unfortunately, the news wasn't positive. Janette announced that although Michelle executed 11 moves, none counted due to incorrect footwork. A disheartened Michelle said: "I'm heartbroken," as reported by the Mirror. Katya also experienced disappointment; of her 17 steps, only three were considered correct, reports the Manchester Evening News.

After her departure from Strictly Come Dancing last week, Michelle, who was paired with her first celeb Jamie this year on the show, took to Instagram to share how demanding the experience had been. She posted an emotional message: "Ah partner, our journey sadly comes to an end... But what a journey it's been. I meant it when I said that you have been the best first partner I could have wished for!

"Be proud...because we worked hard and really made the most of the time we had with you working 2 full on jobs at the same time. This past week was your toughest yet with work, we realistically had two days to put it all together, and look what we achieved, a beautiful foxtrot which we both enjoyed dancing so much.

"This experience was both of our firsts, and we stuck by each other through the highs and lows and everything in between and that in itself is so special. I want to thank you for your trust in me as a teacher and your commitment every week on that dance floor. You ALWAYS gave 100 per cent."
