A TikTok user known as Master Driver has shared some of your car's 'hidden emergency features' that '99 per cent of people don't know'. The driving expert reassured Brits not to worry if they ever get trapped in their car, reports the Mirror.

"Getting out the car is very simple," she explained. "Put down the rear seats first and climb into the trunk. There is a small black mechanism on the trunk door panel. This is your life-saving switch. You can open the trunk with just one click."

Master Driver, who boasts an impressive 1.1 million followers on TikTok for her useful car advice, also demonstrated how to use the small button located beneath your rear view mirror. "Press it down," she instructed.

"This way the lights from behind won't dazzle you while driving at night."

The expert then demonstrated a common feature on the driver's seatbelt, which allows it to be adjusted according to your height. As reported by The Sun, if you hold down the Start Engine button in your car after powering it on, the car will automatically lock within ten seconds - a handy tip to remember.

If you use this function after exiting your vehicle, all windows will reportedly close within three seconds, aiding in ensuring your safety and protecting your belongings.

However, these hacks and features may vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle. It's always beneficial to familiarise yourself with the available functions and how to utilise them safely before embarking on your journey.
