BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers outraged at Chris McCausland 'disadvantage' as they say 'bad taste'
by Katy Hallam, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/katy-hallam/ · Birmingham LiveStrictly Come Dancing viewers were left outraged for Chris McCausland as they blasted the show for putting him at a major 'disadvantage'. The remaining celebs and pros were all tasked with dancing together on the stage at the end of the BBC show in the first dance-a-thon since 2018.
After their individual performances, they all had to show off their Samba moves as the judges watched closely. They then eliminated the couples one-by-one.
The couple's position in the Samb-a-Thon had an impact on their overall score for the night, leaving Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell second from bottom after they were eliminated first and received just one point. Viewers were outraged as they took to X to comment on how unfair the extra element was.

One wrote: "Whose brilliant idea was it to have a sambathon this year of all years, which put Chris at such a disadvantage, he might just as well have gone and sat in the toilet!!"
"Dislike the anti Chris danceathon. Poor show #Strictly," a second said. A third commented: "I find it shocking they chose this year to bring back the sambathon when Chris cannot see any of the other couples/be spatially aware of other couples. Like of course he's gonna get voted off first? Not in good taste in my opinion #Strictly."
"We haven't done the Danceathon for years, so let's do it this year when we have a blind contestant", another fan added.
Comedian Chris took his low placing well, screaming yes repeatedly after it was announced he had been given one point for his efforts.
Strictly Come Dancing's result show airs on BBC One at 7.20pm on Sunday night (November 24).
