Two people found dead after Coventry house fire in early hours

Two people were found dead after a house fire in Coventry. It followed a blaze on The Coppice in the early hours of this morning, Friday, November 8.

West Midlands Police said officers were working to identify the pair. They are also working closely with West Midlands Fire Service, which is probing the cause of the fire.

Anyone with any information was asked to contact police. Inquiries are ongoing.

In a statement, police said: "We’re investigating after the deaths of two people whose bodies were found following a house fire in Coventry today. We were called to an address on The Coppice in Coventry at around 4.50am.

"Sadly, two people were confirmed dead at the scene and we are now working to identify them. Our officers are liaising closely with West Midlands Fire Service, who are working to identify the cause of the fire.
