Firefighters rescue woman from burning Birmingham home

Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning home in Birmingham. The blaze broke out at a property in Bristol Road, Selly Oak, shortly after midnight this morning, November 2.

Four fire engines were called to the scene. The incident involved a small fire in a first-floor bedroom.

The woman in the property was led to safety. She was not injured during the incident, firefighters confirmed.

Locals were urged to avoid the area in the early hours of this morning. Fire Control told BirminghamLive: "We attended at 12.17am this morning. We sent four fire engines to the incident.

"The incident involved a small fire in a first-floor bedroom. A woman was led to safety."

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson wrote on social media platform X at 1.57am: "We currently have three crews in attendance at a fire on Bristol Road, Selly Oak. The fire is now out, and crews have rescued one person from the property.

"All persons are now accounted for. Please avoid the area."
