Birmingham road closed amid major 'police incident'
by birminghammail.co.uk · Birmingham LiveA major Birmingham commuting route is closed amid a 'police incident'. Part of the Bristol Road South between Frankley Beeches Road and Lockwood Road in Northfield has been cordoned off since the early hours of Monday (Nov 18).
The closure affects the city-bound section of the A38 from Sainsburys to the Blackhorse pub to just before Sainsbury’s petrol station. The nature of the incident is yet unknown.
Witnesses have said online of a large emergency presence in the area from 2am.

Birmingham Police said: "A section of Bristol Road South A38 is currently closed between Frankley Beeches Road and Lockwood Road heading into the city while we respond to an incident.
"Motorists are urged to avoid the area. We thank you for your patience."
The closure is causing congestion as we head into rush hour. Motorists are advised to seek other routes where possible.
Traffic provider Inrix said: "A38 Sir Herbert Austin Way Northbound closed, slow traffic due to police incident between Frankley Beeches Road (Black Horse Junction) and B4121 Bell Hill (The Isaac Tongue Junction)."
