Bristol Road crash as man suffers serious injuries in three car collision

A man suffered 'potentially serious injuries' after a three-vehicle collision in Birmingham. Emergency services rushed to the scene, off the city's busy A38 Bristol Road.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Mill Pool Way in Edgbaston just before 6pm, yesterday, Thursday, September 19. It followed an assessment by an off-duty nurse and ambulance technician.

The casualty was treated by paramedics at the scene before he was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further care. Witnesses described the "horror incident", which left one car on its roof.

An ambulance service spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: "We were called to reports of a three car collision on Mill Pool Way, Birmingham at 5.57pm on Thursday. We sent an ambulance and the WMAS Critical Care Car to the scene.

"On arrival, ambulance staff found one patient, a man, who was the driver of one of the vehicles. He had received initial assessment by an off duty nurse and ambulance technician.

"He was assessed and treated for potentially serious injuries before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham."
