Plea as West Midlands woman who faced intruder says 'I've never been so scared in all of my life'

An elderly woman who came face-to-face with an intruder in her own home has been left traumatised. The victim, said to be in her 80s, said she had 'never been so scared in all her life', when the man broke into the property in the Earlsdon area of Coventry, just after 2pm on October 14.

Thankfully, she wasn't hurt but jewellery and a mobile phone were taken. She went on to tell investigators: "I have never been so scared in all of my life as I was when I turned around and came face to face with the man."

Police believe the offender was of slight build, about 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall, with shoulder-length brown hair. They have also released footage of a man they wish to trace in connection with the incident.

West Midlands Police said: "We know the footage is unclear but we also know just how much such crimes affect those whose homes are broken into and possessions stolen."
