Man assaulted during Birmingham house robbery in early hours

Two men have been remanded in custody after a man was assaulted during a house burglary. A man in his 30s was attacked after a property on Barnes Hill, Quinton, was reportedly broken into and electrical items stolen in the early hours of Tuesday (Nov 5).

West Midlands Police said: "Two men have been charged after an armed burglary at an address in Birmingham. In the early hours of Tuesday morning (5 Nov), a property on Barnes Hill was broken into and electrical items were stolen.

"A man in his 30s was also assaulted. Mateos Narke, aged 29 from Oldbury and Daniel Clarke, aged 41 from Tipton, have both been charged with robbery and possession of a knife.

"They appeared in court yesterday and have been remanded in custody for their next court appearance in December."

The statement added: "As the darker nights set in, it's important to take extra precautions to keep your home safe. "We often see a seasonal rise in burglary across the West Midlands through the autumn and winter months."
