Redditch police appeal after BMW driver killed in crash

A BMW driver was killed in a crash in Redditch. Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

West Mercia Police said a blue BMW 530 left Old Ford Drive and ended up in a ditch at around 10.10am yesterday, Sunday, November 3. The driver, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force urged any witnesses to come forward. Police inquiries were ongoing.

In a statement, police said: "We are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision on Old Ford Drive yesterday morning (3 November). Around 10:10am a blue BMW 530 left the road and ended up in a ditch.

"The driver, a man in his 30s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers would like to speak to anybody who may have seen the collision or from anybody who has dash cam footage from around the time it happened.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene. West Mercia Police and the fire service were also in attendance. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Crews arrived quickly on scene to find police and fire colleagues performing CPR on the driver, a man, who had been extricated from the car.

“The team of ambulance staff commenced advanced life support on scene but sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead a short time later on scene.”
