Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland 'ignored' by Dianne Buswell after plea

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Chris McCausland asked his partner Dianne Buswell if they could have a "slow song" for their next dance - but she quickly shut down the idea

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland had a single plea for professional partner Dianne Buswell to which she instantly responded with a 'no'.

Post his vigorous Salsa, leaving him gasping for air and soaked in perspiration, Claudia Winkleman inquired: "Is it 'true' that after last week, Chris was like, 'Darling, can we have a slow song please?' And then that happened! How did you find it?"

Chris disclosed: "I thought anything would be easy after last week, but it's just been a continuation. They say Strictly is meant to make me feel fitter I feel like I've fallen off a horse and been dragged three miles."

Claudia questioned further: "You didn't make it easy, Dianne?", to which the pro dancer acknowledged: "Yeah we don't make it easy. I mean, I trust Chris with all my heart and likewise, right Chris?"

With a chuckle, Chris remarked: "Yeah. I mean... Every week I say to you, 'Are you sure?'", reports the Mirror.

Chris, hailed as a front-runner for the title and delighting viewers with his performances, not least because he's the first-ever visually impaired contestant on the show. Enthusiastic fans praised his talent, one saying: "I'm in actual tears at that salsa!"

Others voiced similar sentiments, outlining Chris's exceptional ability in lifts, superior even to Jamie's that evening. Yet another viewer expressed admiration: "I love Chris and I think he's incredible, anyone who fails to think that needs to put a blindfold on and try just standing still let alone moving around a room and then dancing! How he's doing what he's doing is mind blowing, Diane is an amazing teacher."

The incident occurred after viewers noticed a glaring error in last week's episode, which involved the studio audience. Throughout the programme, two pairs of legs were clearly visible behind the judges, illuminated by blue strobe lights, causing a distraction.

The awkward positioning prompted one viewer to comment: "Rather unfortunate positioning of two lady audience members on Strictly Come Dancing tonight. Looks like the loo door has been left open."

Another fan remarked: "The legs on show behind the judges were distracting!" One viewer's husband even thought it was part of the Halloween-themed decorations, while another fan expressed frustration, saying: "I'm glad it wasn't just me: annoyed me all evening!"

The competition has already seen two contestants, Toyah Willcox and Olympic champion Tom Dean, eliminated from the show. Now, bookmakers are concerned about Paul Merson's chances of staying in the competition after he found himself in the dance-off last week.

Meanwhile, Nick Knowles was forced to miss last week's live show due to a severe double injury but has since recovered and will return this week.
