Moment thug driver bodyslams Solihull man down on pavement leaving him unconscious

This is the shocking moment a man is body slammed down on a pavement and left unconscious in a street attack captured on CCTV. The heavily bleeding victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by police after the nasty incident in Solihull.

Alarming footage shows a man being picked up from behind before he is dumped to the floor on Hytall Road, just after 6pm, on Thursday, November 7. Eye-witnesses said the move resembled 'something out of a wrestling bout.'

West Midlands Police are probing the footage and are hunting the attacker. Police inquiries are ongoing.

A local near to the scene told BirminghamLive: "The guy was walking up the road with his girlfriend and we heard a guy shouting. One of the men said: 'I thought it was over. I thought this had been dealt with?'

"As the guy started walking away, the other guy picked him up in the air, went backwards and body slammed him down onto the floor. It was like a wrestling slam. There was a woman screaming and shouting.

"The victim smashed his head and was out cold. The guy, who we think was the attacker, jumped into his transit van and shot off. Officers rushed the victim off in a police car before the ambulance arrived as it was that bad and he was bleeding heavily."

A police spokesman told BirminghamLive: "We were called to Hytall Road, Solihull shortly after 6pm on 7 November after a man was found with serious injuries. Officers attended and found the man, who was taken to hospital.

"Fortunately, his injuries were not considered life-threatening. We are now investigating to find those responsible and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us via 101 or Live Chat quoting log number 4074 of 7 November."

The ambulance service said they were called to the scene. One patient was taken to hospital, while paramedics assessed another patient who was discharged at the scene.
