Midland thug poured boiling water over woman in 18 months of 'torture'
by Jaspreet Kaur · Birmingham LiveA depraved Coventry rapist who subjected a vulnerable woman to 'sickening' attacks has been put behind bars. Farnaz Farabi, of Jasmine Grove in Coventry, committed appalling acts against the woman, including hitting her with a hammer and pouring boiling water over her, resulting in life-altering injuries.
In addition to raping her, Farabi held a knife to the woman's throat throughout an agonising 18-month ordeal, according to West Midlands Police. The alarm was raised in March when her colleagues noticed facial injuries.
An investigation uncovered that she had suffered a broken hand and ankle, fractured nose, and various laceration wounds. Despite initially denying the offences, Farabi later admitted to rape and wounding at Warwick Crown Court.

On Wednesday (December 11), he received a 19-year sentence along with a subsequent seven-year extended licence period, informed by West Midlands Police. PC Ellis Burbidge described the despicable abuse: "It was horrific physical and sexual abuse of a vulnerable woman over a sustained period of time. What the woman experienced was horrific."
"She has sustained extensive and permanent scarring across her body and is continuing to rebuild her life in a safe environment surrounded by support. It was appalling and inexcusable, and Farabi is rightly behind bars for a significant time.", reports Coventry Live.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson stated: "We are committed to taking robust action against anyone who commits domestic abuse offences. We introduced the Domestic Abuse Desk, which is run by specially trained officers who can have video calls with anyone who has suffered abuse."
He further noted: "It means officers can capture first-hand accounts which can then be used to bring offenders to justice. We can also refer people to charities and independent specialists who offer even more support."
The spokesman urged: "If you have experienced domestic abuse or know someone who has, we are ready to listen to you, support you, and act against whoever is responsible. If there is an emergency that is ongoing or life is in danger, call 999 immediately."
