Lucky escape after car overturns on Midlands country road

Police and fire crews rushed to the scene after the blue-coloured vehicle was left lying on its roof in Shropshire

A driver had a lucky escape after a car overturned on a rural road. The blue vehicle was left lying on its roof following the crash in Shropshire.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the incident on the B4367 near Clungunford in south Shropshire. Officers from West Mercia Police said the driver sustained minor injuries.

The road was closed for two hours while West Mercia Police and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) attended the scene. SFRS said it received a call at 7.42pm yesterday, Thursday, October 10, reporting a road traffic collision on the road.

The fire service said there were no occupants trapped, as it sent one crew to the scene from Craven Arms. South Shropshire SNT's said on X/Twitter: "Vehicle over turned on B4367 near Clungunford this evening. Driver had only minor injuries. Five West Mercia vehicles attended together with Hereford & Worcester fire and shrops fire @SFRS_CravenArms road was closed for two hours."
