Ben Fogle is a well-known face on British television, presenting numerous wildlife-themed programmes across BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. His recent work on Channel 5 includes shows such as Ben Fogle and the Buried City, Endurance: Race to the Pole and Into the Congo with Ben Fogle.

He first gained public attention after his participation in the BBC reality show Castaway 2000, which involved 36 individuals attempting to build a self-sufficient community on the Scottish island of Taransay. Born to actress Julia Foster and vet Bruce Fogle, Ben was privately educated at the Hall School in Hampstead, London and Bryanston School in Dorset.

During his gap years, the now 51-year-old spent time in Ecuador teaching English at an orphanage and working on a turtle conservation project on the Mosquito Coast of Honduras and Nicaragua. He later studied Latin American studies at the University of Portugal and the University of Costa Rica.

Away from his TV career, Fogle enjoys a peaceful life with his wife, Marina and their two children, Ludovic and Iona, near the village of Fawley, on the border of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. This location is just a few miles from Henley-on-Thames, previously named by The Times and The Telegraph as one of the best places to live in the English countryside.

The Countryfile presenter has created quite the haven in the countryside, living with his loved ones and animals amidst the tranquillity of nature. In an interview with Metro back in 2023, he shared insights into his rustic retreat, saying: "We live in an old flint cottage in Oxfordshire. It is in a rural setting surrounded by woodland, fields and nature.", reports the Express.

He went on to illustrate the wildlife encounters at their pastoral abode, noting, "We have plenty of deer that like to eat our roses, moles that dig up the lawn and even a wild population of wallabies that bounce into our garden and chase the dogs, but we love it."

In Fawley lies the stately Fawley Court, a Neoclassical gem from the 17th and 18th centuries, borne from the genius of Sir Christopher Wren with landscapes shaped by Capability Brown. This Grade I-listed marvel once boasted a sprawling deer park stretching into Henley Park.

Furthermore, Fawley's architectural heritage includes the venerable St Mary's Church, with origins in the 12th century, and its grounds house two historical mausolea dating to 1752 and 1862.

Fogle also holds a stake in London's real estate market, leasing out a property in the West. MailOnline reports that this particular £2.7 million five-bedroom fetched a staggering £26,000 per month on the rental market.

With Fawley’s close proximity to the upscale Henley-on-Thames, property values in this quaint village are predictably steep. Rightmove data pins the average house price in Fawley at £2,610,000 over the past year.

Over the past year, most properties sold in Fawley were detached homes, fetching an average price of £4,310,000. Semi-detached properties, on the other hand, sold for an average of £910,000.
