Birmingham arrest as car on cloned plates sparks police chase

A woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a police chase ended with a crash. Officers followed a car using cloned plates which failed to stop on Fox Hollies Road in Acocks Green at around 1pm on Wednesday, November 6.

It collided with two vehicles in Wharfdale Road in Tyseley. Nobody was said to have been seriously injured.

The road was briefly closed while police cleared the scene. A 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and vehicle theft and remained in custody.

A force spokesman said: "A car on cloned plates failed to stop for police in Fox Hollies Road, Birmingham, at just before 1pm. Following a pursuit the car was involved in a collision with two other vehicles in Wharfdale Road.

"No-one was seriously injured. A 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and vehicle theft.

"She is currently in custody for questioning." The incident happened close to Tyseley Station.
