Birmingham arrests, cars and weapons seized during targeted operations
by Jamie Brassington, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/jamie-brassington/ · Birmingham LiveWest Midlands Police made four arrests and seized weapons, drugs and cars during a day of 'enforcement' in the city. Operation Skybridge targeted crime in the Handsworth and other areas of the city.
A 19-year-old man fled officers on Victoria Road in Birmingham but was detained after a short foot chase before a large amount of cannabis and a knife was seized. The suspect was charged with possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply, and possession of a bladed article, and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 3.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man was arrested in Washwood Heath Road. West Midlands Police later charged Muhammad Khan was charged with possession of Class B drugs.

Elsewhere, two men who were acting suspiciously were arrested in Ivy Road, Handsworth. They were both detained on suspicion of supplying drugs before being bailed while investigations continue.
Separate patrols in Handsworth saw officers seize two knives and a hammer. While four vehicles were seized after the drivers were found to be driving without insurance. The vehicles included an Audi S3, an Audi A3, and a stolen motorbike.
Sgt Leon Butler, said: "It has been a hugely successful start for the team. We have carried out dozens of stop and searches, made multiple arrests, disrupted drug dealing on the streets, and carried out numerous seizures of weapons, drugs, and cars."
