JD Vance delivers remarks in Las Vegas

Ohio Sen. JD Vance gave his likely last appeal to Nevada voters to get out and vote Saturday morning in the last three days before the election.

“I think we’re at the point where we can say in only three days, Las Vegas and the whole state will make Donald James Trump the next president,” he said to an energized crowd of around 850 at the Whitney Recreation Center.

His rally came after the conclusion of Nevada’s early voting period, where Republicans turned out in larger numbers than Democrats, thanks in part to the Republican party’s get-out-the-vote messaging encouraging supporters to vote with any method available, including early voting, rather than just on Election Day.

While Vance talked to supporters at the Whitney Recreation Center, his Democratic vice presidential opponent Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz made multiple campaign stops in Southern Nevada.

Vance gave similar campaign pitches as his last trip to Las Vegas on Oct. 23, where he outlined the campaign’s plans for housing and immigration at Treasure Island. He discussed immigration and repeated criticisms of Harris that she hasn’t done what she is promising to do in her time as vice president.

He hit on the campaign’s goal to increase manufacturing jobs and domestic energy production.

“When Donald Trump is president, we’re going to ‘drill, baby, drill,’” Vance said.

He portrayed Trump as the president of “peace and prosperity,” and compared and contrasted Trump and Harris. Vance claimed that Harris wants to raise taxes on families and open the southern border. The Harris campaign denied those charges, saying she supports tightening the border and restoring the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit that aims to give 100 million middle-class Americans tax cuts.

Vance said the biggest contrast between the campaigns is not over policy but over respect. While the Trump campaign criticizes Harris over her record, Vance said it would never attack the citizens who disagree with it, referencing President Joe Biden’s recent “garbage” comment.

“Donald J. Trump is the president of prosperity for all of us, whatever our political affiliation because we love this country and that means loving the people that live here,” Vance said, receiving cheers from the crowd.

Donald Trump Jr. joined Vance onstage in the campaign’s final push before the election and encouraged supporters to get their friends to vote.

“Do your part and we’re gonna make America great again,” Trump said.
