Nevada Democratic leaders warm up crowd at Harris rally in North Las Vegas with J-Lo, Mana

Nevada Democratic leaders are warming up the crowd in advance of Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in North Las Vegas tonight.

Members of Nevada’s Democratic congressional delegation, including Sen. Jacky Rosen and Reps. Dina Titus, Susie Lee and Steven Horsford, were warming up the large crowd gathered at Craig Ranch Park.

“Happy Halloween! Happy Nevada Day!” said Lee. “We’ve got a treat for you tonight: The next president of the United States!”

Lines were already snaking through Craig Ranch Park at 5 p.m., hours before the Democratic presidential hopeful is set to rally supporters in advance of Tuesday’s election.

Even as the lines were forming, Harris was speaking at a rally in Reno earlier this afternoon as part of a barnstorming series of appearances that also included a rally Phoenix.

As darkness fell, temperatures began to drop as sound checks continued while the venue begins to fill.

Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to speak tonight, and while she won’t perform, the audience has already heard at least one of her songs.

The Nevada Day — and Halloween night — event comes the same day as former President Donald Trump’s rally in Henderson this afternoon.

Kim Williams brought along her young grandson, Kaiden Robinson, who was dressed in Halloween garb and excited to participate in a trunk or treat at the park.

“I love the ideals that she stands for, she’s a strong person with good values and we need her,” Williams said about Harris. “The alternative is just not an option.”

Music bumped at the amphitheater as people began to trickle in.

Harris will headline a “When We Vote We Win” get-out-the-vote concert series that will feature a speaking slot by Hollywood actress Jennifer Lopez and a live performance by Mana, a popular Mexican pop-rock band.

This will be Harris’ 10th Las Vegas Valley visit since the start of the year.

Meanwhile, both campaigns announced Thursday that vice presidential candidates Gov. Tim Walz and Sen. J.D. Vance will visit the valley Saturday, a day after early voting ends.

Purple state Nevada is one of the battleground states that can potentially swing the presidential election with its six Electoral College votes. Polls show the race in a virtual tie.
