Last chance! LG's brilliant B3 OLED TV is just $798 for Black Friday before it's gone forever
Our favourite 'cheap OLED' is awesome value in its final weeks of shelf life
by Becky Roberts · whathifiLooking for a bargain OLED TV this Black Friday? One of the best entry-level 55-inch sets is immense value right now – just $798 at Walmart.
We're talking, of course, about an LG OLED: specifically the B3 from last year. "All the TV that most people will ever need," is how we summed up the five-star telly in our B3 OLED TV review earlier this year. It's our favourite 'cheap OLED' in our best OLED TV buying guide, no less.
Considering the TV is now $801 less than its launch price (and $400 off its recently available price) for Black Friday, it's a true bargain and arguably the OLED to buy for those who cannot stretch to the step-up $1300 C3 model or this year's $997 B4 model.
A word of warning: we don't think this deal will be around for long, as the B3 is in its final weeks of shelf life and is already sold out or scantily available at several other retailers such as Target and Amazon.
LG B3 55-inch OLED TV (2023) was $16999 now $798 at Walmart (save $801)
"All the TV that most people will ever need" is how our expert reviewers described LG's B3 OLED when we reviewed it earlier this year. With typically awesome OLED contrast, authentic, balanced picture quality and excellent OS and gaming features, it's a bona fide bargain and a brilliant option if you don't want to stretch to this year's $997 B4 model.
The B3 is a fantastic TV – especially at this discounted price.
It may not go as bright as some of the pricier OLEDs and does only sport two HDMI 2.1 sockets (some have four), but otherwise this TV is hard to fault.
"Punch is, as ever with an OLED, combined with perfectly inky blacks, with each pixel illuminating (or dimming) independently," reads our B3 review. "This equates to truly awesome contrast and the sort of dynamism that non-OLED sets simply can’t match."
It produces images with plenty of solidity and inviting depth, detail levels are high, motion handling is also very impressive at this point, and its upscaling of sub-4K content to its 4K resolution is also praiseworthy.
It doesn't let itself down on the features front either. The B3 supports HDR formats including HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. There’s also 4K/120Hz, VRR, and ALLM onboard, which is great if you're a PS5 or Xbox Series X gamer. There are streaming apps galore courtesy of LG's fantastic webOS system, too.
If you're looking for a cheap 55-inch OLED TV, we'd say you have just found it. For $798 at Walmart, the LG B3 OLED is a brilliant buy.
