Dame Esther Rantzen says she is "disappointed" in Wes Streeting following his "vocal opposition" to the assisted dying bill ahead of its first debate in Parliament.

Lord Cameron previously opposed assisted dying but says the current bill "is about shortening death".

The terminally-ill broadcaster, 84, also took aim at some critics of the proposed legislation for 'distorting facts' and asked them to 'be honest' about their motivations.

David Cameron has become the first former PM to back assisted dying in a major u-turn from his previous vote.
