The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok has announced that children born to Myanmar parents residing in Thailand can now be registered at the embassy.  Under Section 10 of Myanmar’s 1982 Citizenship Law, children born to two Myanmar parents in Thailand can have their births registered within one year of the birth date at the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok or the Myanmar Consulate in Chiang Mai. To complete the registration, parents must provide a translated copy of the child’s birth certificate in English and submit it within one year of the birth date.
