The man accused of staking out Donald Trump's Florida golf course with a rifle was indicted on Tuesday on a charge of attempted assassination of a political candidate.

Ryan Routh, 58, was hit with the charge in federal court Tuesday morning, a little over a week removed from the failed assassination on the political candidate.

Routh had previously been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number

Ryan Routh, accused of staking out Donald Trump's Florida golf course with a rifle, has been indicted on a charge of attempted assassination of a political candidate.

Routh also faces two previous charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
