MPs are scheduled to vote on the Private Members’ Bill to legalise assisted dying for terminally ill adults on Friday

Under existing laws assisted dying is currently banned in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and carries a maximum sentence of 14 years. MPs will vote on changing the law on Friday

The Conservative former PM, who was ennobled as Lord Cameron by Rishi Sunak and served as his foreign secretary, had previously opposed moves to change the law.
