A MAN has been jailed for 11 years after being convicted of rape. Thomas Carr, 35, was sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court after being found guilty by a jury of one rape and one attempted rape. The court heard that Carr and the victim in the case had agreed to meet prior to the attack. He arrived at her home where she made a coffee before going to her bedroom to get ready to go out. While she was in her bedroom, Carr entered the room and raped her despite her telling him to stop. Later on that day, Carr attempted to rape the victim a second time, following which she contacted a friend asking her to come over and get him out of the house. The victim reported Carr to the police, and he was arrested at his home address in George Place, Plymouth, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
