PM Modi celebrated the festival with the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy and Air Force near the Sir Creek area in Kutch district where he offered sweets to jawans. 

The statement from the PM comes at a time when the border disengagement near eastern Ladakh is near completion. Earlier in the day, the Indian and China soldiers exchanged sweets at several border points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on the occasion of Diwali.

'Today there is a government in the country which cannot compromise even on one inch of the country's borders,' the prime minister added.

Keeping up his tradition of celebrating the festival with soldiers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sir Creek near the Indo-Pak border in Gujarat's Kutch district and offered sweets to jawans.
