An apparent attempt on Donald Trump's life was made this month in Florida. The first was made in July this year when the former US President survived by a whisker.

Investigators who seized multiple electronic devices found videos sent to Oran Routh in July as well as chats from a messaging application commonly used by people who share child sexual abuse material, the FBI agent said.

Routh, 58, is being held in jail awaiting trial on two federal gun crime charges.

Routh had previously been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number
