Clarence Thomas stiff-arms CNN from his garage

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas can't seem to catch a break.

Fresh out of ending a weeklong stay in a hospital for an infection, 73-year-old Thomas and his wife, conservative activist Ginni Thomas, were approached by CNN in his garage Friday.

The pair, who are making headlines over leaked text messages from the House Committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, declined to answer questions.

"No thank you," said Clarence Thomas as his wife walked away without comment, CNN reported.

The new tidbit was mentioned in a report on how the Jan. 6 committee members are debating whether to ask Ginni Thomas to appear before the panel for questions. Text messages obtained by the committee and reported by CNN and others show Ginni Thomas pressing former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to overturn the 2020 election.

The revelation led at least one senator to call for Justice Thomas to recuse himself from any Jan. 6 cases and Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, to tweet that the Supreme Court justice "needs to be impeached."

Ginni Thomas insisted to the Washington Free Beacon this month that she and her husband keep their careers completely separate from one another. “Clarence doesn’t discuss his work with me, and I don’t involve him in my work,” she said.
