In an era where digital presence and genuine connection are integral to business success, Breakthrough Communications has sought to make its mark by blending innovation with integrity.

The corporate communications firm celebrated a new milestone on November 11 with the launch of an expanded suite of services during an exclusive event at AC Hotel in Kingston. These offerings include corporate media production, corporate social media marketing, and corporate event management, all meticulously crafted to meet the needs of an increasingly sophisticated and creative business landscape.

“Many of our clients wanted us to expand our suite of services. We researched and found a niche well within our core competencies, yet broader than we imagined,” shared Carlette DeLeon, managing director of Breakthrough Communications. “We are expertly capable to develop cohesive and strategic communications that keep audiences engaged without overloading them with these new services.”

Another highlight of the event was the debut of a standout neuromarketing brand research service – known as Orbital Brand Science – a dedicated arm focused on advanced brand analytics and powered by advanced technology. At its core is the Real-Time Audience Emotion Analysis (RTAEA) project. The service was developed through a partnership with Chief Data Scientist Adrian Dunkley and funded by the Development Bank of Jamaica’s Boosting Innovation, Growth & Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (BIGEE) Programme. The European Union and the Inter-American Development Bank also support the Innovation Grant Fund (IGF) of DBJ.

Orbital Brand Science will offer insights into audience engagement in the first quarter of 2025, achieved by capturing audience responses in real-time through cutting-edge, lightweight electroencephalogram (EEG) headsets, AI vision glasses and AI-powered brain-computer interfaces, and will transform how businesses measure consumer feedback and adapt their brand presence.

“Our expanded services are the result of ongoing dialogue with our clients, understanding their evolving needs, and the necessity to stay agile and data-informed in an ever-changing communication landscape. The entire team at Breakthrough Communications, as well as Adrian Dunkley and his team, have poured months of dedication and expertise into the launch of Orbital Brand Science, and we couldn’t be prouder to bring this vision to life,” shared DeLeon. “From countless hours of research and planning to strategic partnerships, every step has been about the drive to equip clients with deeper audience insights. Our new service merges tried and true strategies with modern innovations. Together, we’re setting the stage for businesses to engage in a truly meaningful way.”

Highlighting the importance of innovation, Christopher Brown, programme manager at DBJ’s BIGEE, remarked, “Innovation is about creating new ways of delivering products or services – or as Breakthrough puts it, completely reimagining them. It can also mean introducing something entirely new to the world or adapting a fresh concept locally.”

He added, “What resonated with me throughout the Breakthrough Reimagined launch is seeing a company that has not only been successful but has grown over the years to now be able to repackage and offer new and improved services. [As a business], if you’re already operating and doing it well, that’s commendable. But by investing more intentional resources, then there is going to be a greater positive impact as a company so this is what I’m excited for ... to see them now embracing this momentum, reinvesting intentionally to create a positive impact. The key takeaway is twofold: whether as an organisation or an individual, always strive to innovate and improve. And remember, DBJ is committed to supporting businesses and entrepreneurs to build a stronger Jamaica.”

Breakthrough Communications’ journey has been defined by its commitment to creating an environment of awareness, understanding, and respect across all spheres of communication. In the 14 years of operation, the company has served General Accident Insurance Company, the LASCO Affiliated Companies, First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union, Salada Foods, PanJam Investment Limited, JP Farms and JP St. Mary’s – some of whom had representatives at the event and shared video testimonials.

DeLeon explained that the expansion of the suite of services will strengthen the symbiotic relationships among the company, journalists and media professionals. “Breakthrough’s commitment to adhering to rigorous journalistic standards, which you deserve and appreciate, will not change.”
