BOJ to suspend teller services to the public tomorrow

· The Gleaner

Based on the tropical storm warning in effect for Jamaica and other information provided by the Meteorological Service about the expected deterioration in weather conditions associated with the tropical system near the island, Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) is advising that its teller services to the public will be suspended tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5 until further notice.

“Bank of Jamaica will activate its essential services protocol to continue providing core central bank services to banks and the financial market,” the central bank said in press release today.

“The public will be updated regarding further developments or changes to BOJ's operating schedule and apologises for any inconvenience that this suspension of teller services may cause.

“Bank of Jamaica reminds all Jamaicans to take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety and the preservation of life and property.”
