Sections of Spur Tree main road to be closed today for works

· The Gleaner

The main road from Spur Tree to Greenvale in Manchester will be partially closed today by the National Works Agency (NWA) to undertake works.

Traffic will be curtailed along the corridor in order to facilitate pavement repairs by a contractor working on behalf of the agency.

Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that sections of the corridor will be milled in order to facilitate repaving.

The work comes as part of the government's multibillion-dollar response to the poor state of some roads, resulting from weeks of heavy rains, since the passage of Hurricane Beryl in July.

Shaw says similar works are also slated to take place along the Gutters main road in St Elizabeth.
