Depression in southern Bay of Bengal may reach India and Sri Lanka: DMH

According to observations made on the afternoon of November 23, the low pressure area over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal on November 25. Thereafter, its likely to move northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next two days.
Regarding the situation in Myanmar, on November 28 and 29, nearly 5 inches of rain may pour down in Sittway, Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U and Maungdaw in northern Rakhine State and 1.6 inches of rain may pour down in Magway, Sagaing, Mandalay regions and Chin and Shan states. The information about the storm could change at any time, said U Win Naing, a weather observer.
