Fuel prices see slight drop in Yangon
by EMG · Eleven Media Group Co., LtdFuel prices have decreased slightly, according to the prices announced by the Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil.
The prices of fuel set on December 13 are 3,040 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 3,150 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 3,210 kyats per litre for premium diesel, and 2,590 kyats per litre for diesel.
The prices of fuel set recently in the market are 3,065 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 3,180 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 3,275 kyats per litre for premium diesel, and 2,630 kyats per litre for diesel.
Fuel prices dropped, with an average drop of about 30 kyats per litre of gasoline and over 50 kyats per litre of diesel, according to the announcement.
At present, the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) sold foreign currencies to importers including entrepreneurs who import fuel, announced the CBM.
In December, sales amounted to more than US$38 million, more than 1.4 million yuan, more than 107 million baht on December 2, more than 1.4 million yuan on December 3, more than 1.4 million yuan on December 4, more than 1.52 million yuan on December 5, US$15 million, more than one million yuan, 200 million baht on December 6, US$35 million and 40 million baht in the market for importers on December 10. The CBM sold about 900,000 yuan on December 10, 500,000 yuan on December 11, and US$28.5 million and 600,000 baht on December 12, totaling more than US$88 million, more than 8 million yuan and more than 348 million baht within 12 days, according to the CBM.
According to the CBM, it sold 14.5 million baht on November 12, about US$400,000 on November 14 and US$35 million on November 16 to fuel importers.
